How to reconcile the diplomat and the poet? Guest of honor: Indran Amirthanayagam, renowned poet and diplomat at the U.S. Foreign Office, traveled from Washington, D.C., for a groundbreaking dialogue with scholars of Gabriela Mistral, Octavio Paz, Elena Văcărescu and Paul Claudel. The evening featured poems from the past and present that combine diplomatic tact and poetic minutiae.
