“Geneva Working for the World” – Science Diplomacy

Frontier science is advancing faster than many institutions can absorb – yet the governance choices made today will shape people, planet and society for decades, including critical dimensions like security.

Together with the Diplomatic Club of Geneva, the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator Foundation (GESDA) is convening an Anticipatory Leadership Lab: an intimate, experiential and off-the-record space for a curated group of diplomats and leaders from across International Geneva to learn how to prepare for the possible worlds anticipated by science.

Drawing on GESDA’s distinctive leadership in anticipatory governance based on the GESDA Science Breakthrough Radar®, participants will explore what breakthroughs in brain-computer interfaces, quantum technologies and synthetic biology could mean over 5-, 10- and 25-year horizons. They will translate scientific insight into policy implications and practical action — identifying opportunities and governance gaps early enough to shape emerging trajectories and move from reactive policymaking to anticipatory governance.

Conducted under the Chatham House Rule, the Anticipatory Leadership Lab confronts science, diplomacy and decision-making within the trusted, cross-sector environment that makes International Geneva unique.
